Best Friend of Charleston with one add-on coach. That church, along with the 2 green trees, are from Grandpa's layout.
BFoC was the first locomotive built in the USA. It was made in New York for the South Carolina Canal And Rail Road Company (ordered in 1827), disassembled for shipment, sent to Charleston SC, and rebuilt there in 1830. Within 3 years the Rail Road Company had expanded to 6 locomotives (including the Phoenix, a rebuild of the BFoC after a boiler explosion in June 1831).

Trucks and Wheelsets
OGR Forum discussion includes some talk of wheelsets. In the shot below: To the left is an Atlas 2-bay hopper on Atlas 3-rail truck with truck-mounted Atlas scale coupler. To the right is a wooden kit reefer on an unknown-maker arch-bar truck & scale 2R wheelset, with Kadee 805 car-mounted coupler.
Running the Wheels Off
One of the guys on the OGR Forum commented since he got Legacy he's been "Running the wheels off" his Lionel TMCC locos.... well, this isn't a loco, but maybe it qualifies as running the wheels off anyway... :)
This is actually an NWSL wheelset from SMR Trains. It's an "infant mortality" kind of thing... loosened up in the first 400 hours of operation.
Bridge & Gate across Doorway
Some of the guys on the OGR Forum are further along than me in building bridges across doorways. I've thought a lot about how I'd do it. Since I haven't done it yet, the next-best thing is kibbitzing with people who are making more progress with theirs!
