Established in 1997, NPF Railway celebrates Model Railroading and the Northern Pacific Railway with an irreverent eye toward history and modeling. We are currently working on Stampede Pass circa 1880's in O scale, but you’ll find we are much closer to our roots in O27 Hi-Rail than we are to any true semblance of “realistic” modeling. NPF Railway has roughly followed the path of the original Northern Pacific Railway: Both originated as ill-conceived, precariously financed adventures by men whose vision and persuasiveness far surpassed their financial and organizational capacity. Both pushed forward despite daunting odds, rushing in where angels fear to tread. Both built such steep grades through terrain so rugged that, despite ingenious engineering, the labor was overworked to the point of mass desertion. And, both were built by men who loved trains! | Getting ready for some renovation, the Spring Tour 2007 is a “last look” before some major scenery changes. Spring Tour 2007 shows off a Wood Arch Truss Bridge built from a Black Bear Construction kit, and a few wooden boxcars as the NPF considers a new "old" direction.
Modeling is an art form filled with technical learning opportunities. In the interest of spreading the knowledge, we've developed some tutorials and articles covering topics such as ballasting (shown here), controlling electric spikes, use of forced perspective, sound deadening, and others. | Other Tour Pages - broken as of 7/08

Tours from 1999, 2000, 2004 can be found on the site as well. Under Construction NPFRailway.com is under construction, as it migrates from the comcast user.net family of web pages. In the meantime, what you don't find working here, you may find is working at: The Comcast home of NPF Railway This page was last modified on Sunday, July 06, 2008 09:34 AM |
